If you’re planning to register for a class on BATEP.org, it’s important to understand what each registration status means. Here's a breakdown to help you navigate the process:
1. Available
Classes listed as "Available" are open for registration on a first-come, first-served basis. There are no reserved seats or prerequisites for these courses, so simply register to secure your spot.
2. Standby
Most BATEP courses initially place students on a “standby” status. This is to confirm prerequisites and ensure the final roster aligns with the program’s regional objectives. Once the review process is complete, eligible students will be moved to “registered” status, and BATEP.org will send a confirmation email. "Standby" status may also be used when additional registration requirements are needed.
Note: If you’re interested in a course only available in standby, go ahead and register! This lets BATEP gauge demand for the course, potentially leading to additional offerings. If you’re on standby, check your inbox for updates. Notifications are typically sent about a month before the course begins, although this can sometimes be closer to the start date due to processing times.
3. Closed
If a course is marked as "Closed," it can indicate one of two things:
- Option A: If “Please Register Via CSTI” appears next to the title, it means you’ll need to register through the California Specialized Training Institute (CSTI) website, not BATEP.org. These classes will appear as “Closed” on BATEP.org, even if spots are available. To register, open the course flyer and follow the link provided.
- Option B: If there’s no note to register via CSTI, this means the class has reached full capacity.
With this guide, you can confidently navigate BATEP’s registration system and secure the training opportunities that meet your needs. Happy learning!
